Value Based Purchasing Program Performance Period begins July 1, 2011- March 31, 2012- Are you ready?

The funding for this program will be through a reduction to the FY2013 base operating DRG payments for each discharge of 1.0 %. Hospitals with the highest VBP score will receive the maximum payment. Hospitals with performance scores of 0 will receive no VBP payment. 

There are12 Clinical Process of Care Measures (Acute Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Healthcare-associated infections and Surgeries) and 8 Patient Experience of Care Measures ( Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey) that you need to be making sure you are documenting.
